She loves the magical qualities of film, and is a great fan of ‘grain, always hoping for a nice accident when she’s shooting film. Those are the images that mean so much more to her. Her artistic side wants to always take over, sometimes even forcing light leaks and such. She wants to create her vision of beauty, her editorials are almost works of art…Her main goal is to inspire people and bring them into her world of dreams, and for a moment surpass their troubles or help them to see beauty and love out of our images. »
Emma Picq vit et travaille à Paris.
Après des études de cinéma et de photographie à l'université Louis Lumière, elle s’installe à Paris pour poursuivre un cursus en philosophie. Elle poursuit en parallèle une formation d’art dramatique, suit les cours Périmony, les ateliers de Blanche Salant, puis la master class de Jack Waltzer, explorant une réflexion sur la mise en scène ainsi qu’une recherche constante et passionnée sur la “nature humaine” et la performance.
elle rencontre et assiste un temps l'artiste photographe Patrick Cariou qui lui ouvre la voie vers le portrait et l’écriture argentique via l’utilisation du moyen-format analogue. De cette période, lui restera un respect éternel pour ce medium et un désir de vérité dans sa vision de la beauté.
Mue par un désir viscéral de création et de partage, elle offre une vision personnelle sensible, toujours poussée par une soif d’authenticité et d’expérimentation qu’elle aime à faire surgir.
elle fonde en Janvier 2021 la revue papier Borderlines Paper et en assume la direction artistique.
Elle signe les portraits de nombreux artistes, Phoenix ,Zaho de Sagazan, Soko ,Kris -Christine and the Queens, le groupe Artic Monkeys, la pochette et le livret de l'album "Coup de Foudre" de Jacques Higelin, compose un un portfolio d'images peintes en collaboration avec le studio créatif Elements pour le coffret "A perte de vue" d'Alain Bashung.
